URL Task
The URL Task is used to check for access to a given web page/site. This task can also be used to check for active web services providing the web service exposes its metadata.

General Format

Attributes
  • name: specifies the task name - "UrlTask".
  • description: (optional) specifies the text to be displayed in the Task column within the user interface (UI). If you ommit this attribute the tasks name will be used.
  • url: specifies the URL to check. This URL must be accessible in order for this task to be successful.
  • failAsWarning: (optional) if specified, and has a value of "true", "yes", or "1", then any errors caught by this task will be treated as warnings. NOTE: This attribute can be applied to any task.
  • disabled: (optional - not shown) if specified, and has a value of "true", "yes", or "1", then this task will not be loaded and will be ignored. NOTE: This attribute can be applied to any task.
NOTE: The network credentials of the account running NDiagnostics will be utilized when making the web request to the specified URL. A future version of this task may support custom credentials if it is found to be necessary.
