File Task
The File Task is used to check for the existence of a given file and optionally check for a matching version number.

General Format
<Task name="FileTask" description="Data File" path="" version="" minVersion="" failAsWarning="" />

Attributes
  • name: specifies the task name - "FileTask".
  • description: (optional) specifies the text to be displayed in the Task column within the user interface (UI). If you ommit this attribute the tasks name will be used.
  • path: specifies the path to the filename to check. This file must exist on the target machine in order for this task to be successful.
  • version: (optional) if specified, the file's version must match this value exactly in order for this task to be successful.
  • minVersion: (optional) if specified, the file's version must be equal to or greater than this value in order for this task to be successful. If the version attribute is specified, this attribute will be ignored.
  • failAsWarning: (optional) if specified, and has a value of "true", "yes", or "1", then any errors caught by this task will be treated as warnings. NOTE: This attribute can be applied to any task.
  • disabled: (optional - not shown) if specified, and has a value of "true", "yes", or "1", then this task will not be loaded and will be ignored. NOTE: This attribute can be applied to any task.
